Joe Lane, President -- After graduating ‘Cum Laude’ and second in his class from Central Washington University with a degree in construction management, Joe pursued his career with employment in two larger construction firms. In July of 1995, just a little more than a year after graduating from college, Joe and a high school classmate, Cal Miller, joined to begin a new company, Pacific Tech Construction. In the early formation years Pacific Tech found moderate growth and hired a core staff of administrative and construction professionals to develop and manage an increasing project load. In 2002, under Joe’s leadership Pacific Tech was certified into the SBA 8(a) program and quickly leverage their seven years of experience into the federal market place. At this time, annual gross sales were just over $3.5 million dollars and through good work and attention to customer service, annual gross sales ten years later are nearing $26 million dollars. Poised for growth and with the assistance of the SBA, Joe lead Pacific Tech with such success over the next two years that in 2005 he was awarded with the Regional Small Business Person of the Year for Region X, and Pacific Tech was awarded Minority Small Business of the Year for Region X and the Minority Small Business of the Year for the Portland, Oregon District Office. With professional ties to many industry organizations and community groups Joe has helped build Pacific Tech into a strong reliable resource for our clients. Today as the company president, Joe continues to focus on company development as Pacific Tech transitions from the SBA 8(a) program after graduating in the fall of 2011. |

Cal Miller, Vice President -- Cal graduated with honors from the local high school, Kelso High School, in 1987. The following fall semester, he enrolled in the University of Washington to graduate with credentials for Construction and business. During his enrollment through school, Cal worked for Brill's Contracting, Inc. in 1989 as a project Manager overseeing the roofing division and gaining valuable experience pertaining to Project Management, business management as well as experience with several different roofing systems. During the Summer of 1991 Cal Graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts and Political Science. In 1993, in order to learn most and gain even more hands on experience applying and demolishing virtually all different kinds of roofing systems, Cal became employed at Roof Systems, Inc. as a Project Manager. At Roof systems, Inc. Cal then got his hands further into roof estimating to provide his clients with a best-value cost for their roofing needs. Cal was a model employee who put his education and experience to the test and was able to produce satisfactory results. Two years later in 1995 Cal made the decision to partner with his former High School classmate, Joe Lane and thus Pacific Tech Construction, Inc. was born. Though Pacific Tech is a General Construction company specializing in many trades, Cal made it a priority to strengthen the roofing division of his company. Currently, Pacific Tech self performs 100% of all roofing contracts and has been a successful leader in the roofing industry.
